Rebbe Elimelech of Lizhensk, is known as the Rebbe of all Rebbes. Rebbe Elimelech of Lizhensk and his brother, Rebbe Zisha of Hanipoli, were among the greatest students of the Maggid of Mezritch, the Ba’al Shem Tov’s successor.
Rebbe Elimelech went on to lead the next generation of chassidim, molding the masters who would transform the Torah world in coming generations.
His profound influence continues today. Thousands of people stream to his kever each year, hoping to obtain the salvations he promised those who would come.
His Prayer Before Praying is recited worldwide.
His Tzeitel Katan (“Small Pamphlet”), with its instructions of how to live a life of purity and holiness, has been studied regularly by chassidim for over two centuries.
