Teachings of the Sages 3rd Kislev 5770

Two Tzadiks

ON REPENTANCE

“Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz said that the power of teshuva [repentance, return] can been seen in a worm’s burrowing its way through the soil to the sun. It’s not an expression of thought, but of the soul’s movement, the life force. This force is apparent throughout creation”.*

Joke of the day 3rd Kislev 5770

Breslev Israel

The judge, noticing that one of the witnesses is a Chassidic Jew in full regalia orders a Yiddish-English translator. When the Chassid takes the stand he says to the judge “You know there is no need for a translator. I was born in N.Y., got a Doctorate from Harvard and I speak a perfect English”. The translator says “Ehr zugt oz mein darfnit kein metargem, ehr ken reden zeyer gut Einglish.”
